The SUV King Has Arrived! The All-New 2023 Honda CR-V is Unveiled with a 1.5L VTEC Turbo Engine, 204Hp Horsepower, Stylish Exterior, and High-Tech Interior!

The 2023 Honda CR-V is currently undergoing testing in our country, and it is believed that the manufacturer is preparing for its upcoming launch. According to reports, in addition to the 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine, the new CR-V will also introduce the 2.0L i-MMD hybrid engine, boasting 193 horsepower and 335 Newton-meters of torque, along with excellent fuel efficiency. The upcoming model is set to come with some exciting features, making it highly anticipated.

As revealed by local media Careta.my, their readers recently spotted a heavily camouflaged test vehicle near Hospital Serdang, indicating that this could be the sixth-generation CR-V, which was first launched in the United States last year. According to previous information, the new generation will come with a range of enhanced features.

In terms of exterior design, it will adopt the same family-style design as the US-spec HR-V, including sleek LED headlights and a piano black-painted grille, giving it a more assertive and sporty look. While the side profile design remains largely unchanged, the increase in body length compared to the previous generation will provide more space.

Current CR-V: 4,625 mm X 1,854 mm X 1,689 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,660 mm. New generation CR-V: 4,694 mm X 1,864 mm X 1,681 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.

With the extended wheelbase, the new vehicle is expected to offer improved interior space and a quieter cabin, catering to the needs of families. Additionally, the 5 seating configuration, which was not available in the current CR-V in our country, is expected to be retained in this new generation.

Regarding the interior, this vehicle adopts the latest family interior design language, with a high-quality interior design. It features a 9-inch digital instrument cluster for displaying comprehensive driving information and new 7-inch/9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment systems, supporting features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As a family-oriented vehicle, it offers one of the most spacious center console storage spaces in its class.

In terms of powertrains, the new CR-V will offer two different engine options. It will come with the 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine, maintaining its current power output of 190 horsepower and 243 Newton-meters of peak torque. Additionally, it will offer a 2.0L i-MMD hybrid powertrain, delivering a maximum power of 204 horsepower and peak torque of 335 Newton-meters. Aside from its strong performance, it also offers impressive fuel efficiency. In foreign markets, it comes with an optional AWD all-wheel-drive system, although it remains to be seen if it will be offered in our country, as AWD can often result in higher fuel consumption.

Furthermore, in terms of safety features, the new CR-V is expected to receive upgrades. In addition to the existing Honda Sensing advanced driver-assistance features like ACC adaptive cruise control, LDW lane departure warning, and AHB automatic high beams, it is rumored to introduce new functions, including emergency evasion assistance. Moreover, long-awaited features like BSM blind spot monitoring and RCTA rear cross-traffic alert may also be available on the Malaysian version of the vehicle.

In conclusion, we have coming release date from the manufacturer, but it has been predicted by investment banks that Honda Malaysia will introduce three new models to the Malaysian market this year. Among them, the all-new CR-V is expected to be one of the first to be unveiled. With multiple new vehicles on the horizon, it's likely that a launch event will happen soon. Do you think the CR-V will be the first of these new cars to be unveiled this year?
